Aurora Networks PON Evo Portfolio Prevents Vendor Lock-In
May 14, 2026 – Richardson, TX – Aurora Networks, a Vistance Networks (NASDAQ: VISN) business, announced today that its PON Evo™ portfolio enables customers to manage across multiple PON ecosystems, allowing them to avoid single vendor lock-in. When solutions are tied to each other by vendor category, it becomes difficult to move from ecosystem to ecosystem. However, Aurora Networks offers a portfolio of agnostic PON solutions allowing customers to deploy a cost-effective multi-vendor environment.
The portfolio of open standards-based solutions from Aurora Networks supports interoperability, allowing service providers with established PON architectures to cost effectively evolve their operator networks. Customers looking to advance their networks have more options when interoperable solutions allow them to expand their portfolio across multiple PON ecosystems.
Aurora Networks’ PON Evo portfolio of end-to-end leading-edge PON solutions also fully supports today’s high-speed internet requirements, setting the stage for the path to 50G and 100G networks. The portfolio contains a full range of Optical Line Terminals (OLTs), Remote OLT (R-OLT) modules, Optical Network Units (ONUs), and cloud-based/centralized management solutions for any type of operator—cable, Telco, hybrid MSO, municipality/power, and new entrants. Additionally, the PON Evo products support all types of deployment scenarios, from low-density rural to high-density urban networks.
Within the portfolio, Aurora Networks also offers agnostic management solutions. The vBNG Evo™ platform, a virtual Broadband Network Gateway, simplifies subscriber management via scalable user planes that can be added when and where operators need them, and control planes that support up to two million subscriber sessions each. For operators looking to remotely control ONTs and all PON Evo OLT hardware components, the PON Evo SDN Management and Control platform delivers that capability.
Aurora Networks will be at the upcoming Fiber Connect 2026 event, in Orlando, Florida May 17–22, to discuss the PON Evo portfolio solutions and showcase some of the products. An example of products on display include:
· The PON Evo 1600 Series Optical Line Terminal (OLT) shelf, one of the next-generation PON Evo OLT shelves that provide ultra-high bandwidth services for residential, business, and mobile customer segments. The 1600 Series supports low-density rural and corporate deployments.
· The PON Evo 200 Series Remote OLT (R-OLT) module, which enables the seamless coexistence of RF/HFC, RFoG overlay, and digital returns with ultra-high bandwidth GPON and XGS-PON networks in Aurora Networks HFC node and VHub enclosures.
Fiber Connect 2026 attendees can learn more about PON Evo at Partner Booth #1743, which Aurora Networks is sharing with Wiring the Future Networks (WTFN), an authorized Value-Added Reseller (VAR) of PON Evo Products and Solutions headquartered in Vienna, Virginia.
