This RD1424-M4 RPD Overview and Implementation instructor-led training course is specifically for customers that are using the vCCAP Evo virtual CMTS in their Distributed Access Architecture network.  It presents the RD4 Series RD1424-M4 RPD (Remote PHY Device) solution. The course covers the benefits of Remote PHY, a hardware overview, Remote PHY protocols, and additional features.  Students registering for this course have attended the VCCAP201 vCCAP Evo Operations instructor-led training course or have working experience with the vCCAP Evo before attending this instructor-led training course.

This instructor-led training course is delivered in one 4-hour session.

Course Specifics

Prerequisites:  A basic understanding of CATV systems, RF plant fundamentals and data networking.

The student should also have DOCSIS knowledge and prior working experience with the E6000 CER or with the vCCAP Evo. Alternatively, the student may have attended E6D201: E6000 CER Operations instructor-led course with E6D101: E6000 CER Hardware Overview eLearning, or VCCAP201 vCCAP Evo Operations instructor-led course with vCCAP101: vCCAP Evo Overview eLearning, plus have attended a DOCSIS training course (TEC301 and/or TEC302).
